(Rolf Konow,SMPSP / SONY PICTURES ENTERTAINMENT) How do you feel that conversation has changed in 20 years? The conversation right now is about women leading franchises. We talked to Jovovich about her iconic roles, and - with "Wonder Woman" dominating the summer and films like “Atomic Blonde” on the horizon - how, or if, the action landscape is shifting. With the recent "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter," the film series crossed $1.2 billion worldwide. The 2002 video game adaptation spawned six sequels. In the 15-year franchise "Resident Evil," Jovovich played another kick-butt woman who was part of an experiment to create a clone resistant to a zombie virus. Her character, Leeloo, is still cosplayed around the world. This year marks the 20th anniversary of "The Fifth Element," which saw Jovovich leap off the screen as a formidable heroine - a supreme being even - who captivated audiences under the impression they were just coming to see another Bruce Willis vehicle. Later Leeloo and Korben make love to each other in the chamber where she was created and smiled at him.Milla Jovovich was at the forefront of the modern era of women commanding the screen as action stars. Leeloo asks Korben why he needs her and he says "Because I love you." Leeloo sobs after hearing this then finally shares a kiss with Korben destroying the great evil before it hits Earth. She is brought to the pyramid to activate the stones although she refused at first after looking at pictures about war. Leeloo was wounded as she cried for help and wept as she was to weak to move but is soon rescued by Korben before the hotel explodes. While Dallas is watching the Diva sing Leeloo fights Zorg's goons until she is cornered by Zorg and trapped in the ventilation system. Later she accompanies Korben to find the stones to destroy the great evil. Leeloo regains consciousness after Korben kisses her then she is given proper clothes by Vito and his apprentice. After being evaded from the police Leeloo tells Korben to take her to Vito Cornelius before going unconscious. Leeloo communicates with Korben speaking her language then learns to say big badda boom making her laugh. Korben asks Leeloo if she is okay and she responds by smiling at him. Once in the city Leeloo looks up at it as a creature who's never seen a city before and evades the cops by jumping and falling into Korben Dallas' taxi. Leeloo is angered by this and knocks the general out and escapes out in the city with the police on her trail. Once awakened Leeloo starts panting heavily and wishes to leave her chamber until General Munroe tells her if she wants out she has to learn her communication skills. One of the scientists calls her perfect and clothes her in thermal bandages to seal her nakedness. Leeloo was first seen in a laboratory being created and revealed to be a young woman who speaks an ancient language. She was portrayed by Milla Jovovich, who also played Alice (Resident Evil)in Resident Evil Film series, Cydney Anderson in A Perfect Getaway, Anna Marchant in Faces in The Crowd, Kate Abbott in Survivor and Natalie Artemis in Monster Hunter. Leeloo is the titular central protagonist of The Fifth Element as well as the love Interest of Korben Dallas. You can help the Heroes Wiki by expanding it!
